About RateMyD

RateMyD is an AI photo-rating tool. It scores a submitted photo from 0–10 across six dimensions — proportions, aesthetics, grooming, photo quality, lighting, and overall vibe — in either a brutally honest "roast" mode or an encouraging "hype" mode. It is built for entertainment and curiosity, not diagnosis.

How the rating works

Each photo is analysed by an AI model that returns a score and written feedback for all six dimensions, plus an overall verdict. The aggregate of these scores across all submissions is published, updated daily, on our AI rating stats page. Those numbers describe what gets uploaded to a rating app — they are self-selected, not a representative sample of any population.

The data behind our size statistics

Our size statistics and percentile calculator are grounded in the most-cited peer-reviewed source on this topic: Veale et al. (2015). BJU International, 115(6), 978-986. — a systematic review and meta-analysis of 15,521 men using standardised, clinician-measured protocols (self-reported data was excluded from the nomograms). The full study is available at https://doi.org/10.1111/bju.13010. Percentiles are computed with a standard normal distribution model using the mean and standard deviation reported in that study.

We deliberately keep this clinical size data separate from our own AI-rating scores: one is peer-reviewed physical measurement, the other is an aesthetic AI judgement. We don't blend the two, and we don't publish country-by-country "averages" we can't source — between-country differences in the literature are small and methodologically inconsistent, so we cite regional studies only where a peer-reviewed one exists.

Privacy

Photos are deleted immediately after the AI processes them. We don't store them, we don't use them to train models, and no human reviews them. The numbers on our stats pages are aggregates only — they never expose any individual submission. See the privacy policy for the full detail.

Our educational content is written and maintained by the RateMyD editorial team and checked against the peer-reviewed sources cited on each page. If you spot an error, tell us on the feedback board or in our community at r/AIDickRating, and we'll fix it.
